Beths Grammar School โ€“ 11 Plus Admissions

How to Apply for 11 Plus (11+) Entry to Beths Grammar School?

Applications to sit the entrance exam must be made on the school website over the summer before your child begins Year 6. You can register here.

You must also formally apply for a place at the school before midnight on the 31st of October (when your child is in Year 6) to be considered. You can find out more about applying for secondary schools in your local area here.

Is Beths Grammar School part of a Consortium?

Beths Grammar School uses the Bexley Selection Tests with Bexley Grammar School, Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School and Townley Grammar School.

Does Beths Grammar School have a catchment area?

Beths Grammar School does have a catchment area, which is based on distance from the school. However, entry to the school is based firstly on the scores achieved in the 11+ tests.

How Does Place Allocation Work?

Where qualifying applications exceed the number of places available, places will be allocated in the following order of priority:

  1. Applicants who are or have been Looked After Children.

  2. Those boys identified by the Local Authority as achieving one of the highest 180 scores in the selection tests.

  3. For applicants with a sibling currently attending Beths Grammar School at the time of enrolment. A sibling includes full, half, adopted and step-brother or sister living at the same address.

  4. Applicants with a parent or registered carer employed by Beths Grammar School on a permanent contract at the time of application.

  5. Up to 12 places for boys who are eligible for Pupil Premium and/or Free School Meals and deemed selective at the time of application in rank order of distance from the school.

  6. On the basis of proximity to the school measured by reference to the shortest radial distance (direct line distance between the applicantโ€™s home address to Beths Grammar Schoolโ€™s east entrance in Hartford Road). In cases where parents live at different addresses, the home address is that at which the child resides for the greater part of the week.
