Students will sit three papers, each lasting 50 minutes.

How to Apply for 11 Plus (11+) Entry to Bournemouth School?
Applications to sit the entrance exam must be made on the school website over the summer before your child begins Year 6. You can register here.
You must also formally apply for a place at the school before midnight on the 31st of October (when your child is in Year 6) to be considered. You can find out more about applying for secondary schools in your local area here.

Bournemouth School is in the Dorset Consortium, which consists of Bournemouth School, Bournemouth School for Girls, Parkstone Grammar School and Poole Grammar School.
Does Bournemouth School have a catchment area?
Bournemouth School does have a catchment area. However, entry to the school is based firstly on the scores achieved in the 11+ tests.
The catchment area is made up of the following postal addresses: BH1, BH2, BH3, BH4, BH5, BH6, BH7, BH8, BH9, BH10, BH11, BH12 5, BH23 1, BH23 2 and BH23 3.
How Does Place Allocation Work?
Where qualifying applications exceed the number of places available, places will be allocated in the following order of priority:
Eligible boys who are looked after children or previously looked after children.
Boys who are eligible for Pupil Premium.
Boys who live within the catchment area.
Boys who are the sons of current members of staff.
The remaining eligible boys will be ranked in order of the entrance test scores, with those boys obtaining the highest scores given higher priority.
