Students will sit two papers, each lasting 45–50 minutes.

How to Apply for 11 Plus (11+) Entry to Churston Ferrers Grammar School?
Applications to sit the entrance exam must be made on the school website over the summer before your child begins Year 6. You can register here.
You must also formally apply for a place at the school before midnight on the 31st of October (when your child is in Year 6) to be considered. You can find out more about applying for secondary schools in your local area here.

Churston Ferrers Grammar School is part of the Torbay Grammar Schools, which is made up of Churston Ferrers Grammar School, Torquay Boys’ Grammar School, Torquay Girls’ Grammar School and The Spires College.
Does Churston Ferrers Grammar School have a catchment area?
Churston Ferrers Grammar School does not have a catchment area however in the case of a tie, the location and distance of the child’s house to the school will be used to make the final decision. Entry to the school is based firstly on the scores achieved in the 11+ tests.
How Does Place Allocation Work?
Where qualifying applications exceed the number of places available, places will be allocated in the following order of priority:
Children with an 11+ exam score equal to or higher than the 130th ranked candidate (up to 130 spaces).
Children with an 11+ exam score which places them in the range between the 131st ranked candidate and the 180th in the following order:
Children in care, or who were in care but ceased to be in care because they were adopted or made the subject of a child arrangements order or a special guardianship order.
Children in receipt of Free School Meals or Pupil Premium at the time of the test.
Children of staff working at the school at the time of the test. Staff members must be employed for at least two years and/or recruited more recently to fill a difficult to fill vacancy.
The remaining places available will be ranked according to the 11+ exam score.
