Marling School – 11 Plus Admissions
How to Apply for 11 Plus (11+) Entry to Marling School?
Applications to sit the entrance exam must be made on the school website over the summer before your child begins Year 6. You can register here.
You must also formally apply for a place at the school before midnight on the 31st of October (when your child is in Year 6) to be considered. You can find out more about applying for secondary schools in your local area here.
Is Marling School part of a Consortium?
Marling School is part of the Gloucestershire Grammar Schools.
Does Marling School have a catchment area?
Marling School does not have a catchment area but gives priority to children who attended a primary school within the Cotswold Beacon Academy Trust in a tie-break situation. Entry to the school is based firstly on the scores achieved in the 11+ tests.
How Does Place Allocation Work?
Where qualifying applications exceed the number of places available, places will be allocated in the following order of priority:
Any children in care or previously in care who have met the qualifying standard.
Any candidate attracting Pupil Premium funding (those who have been registered for free school meals at any point in the six years prior to the test day) who have met the qualifying standard.
Other qualifying candidates in test rank order.
