How to Apply for 11 Plus (11+) Entry to Poole High School?

Applications to sit the entrance exam must be made on the school website over the summer before your child begins Year 6. You can register here.

You must also formally apply for a place at the school before midnight on the 31st of October (when your child is in Year 6) to be considered. You can find out more about applying for secondary schools in your local area here.

How Does Place Allocation Work?

This school is only partially selective. Places will be allocated in the following order of priority:

  1. Looked after children or previously looked after ahildren.

  2. Children of members of staff.

  3. Children eligible as part of the Expressly Academic 10%.

  4. Children who have applied for a place in Year 7 and who are not part of the “Expressly Academic” 10% in the following order:

  • Children whose home address is within the catchment area and who have a sibling at the school who it is anticipated will still be attending at the time of admission.

  • Other children with a sibling at the school and who it is anticipated will still be attending at the time of admission.

  • Children whose home address is within the catchment area.

  • Children whose home address is outside the catchment area but with a sibling who it is anticipated will still be on the school roll at the time of admission.

  • Children whose home address is outside the catchment area.
