How to Apply for 11 Plus (11+) Entry to The King John School?

Applications to sit the entrance exam must be made on the school website over the summer before your child begins Year 6. You can register here.

You must also formally apply for a place at the school before midnight on the 31st of October (when your child is in Year 6) to be considered. You can find out more about applying for secondary schools in your local area here.

How Does Place Allocation Work?

Where qualifying applications exceed the number of places available, places will be allocated in the following order of priority:

  1. Looked after children and previously looked after children.

  2. Children living in the priority admission area for the school or in the postcode area prefixed ‘SS’ with a sibling on roll of the school at the time of application. 

  3. Children living in the priority admission area for the school.

  4. Children of staff employed by the school.
