The pass mark for each year is decided after the tests have been marked.
The weightings are 50% for English and verbal reasoning, 25% for non-verbal reasoning and 25% for mathematics.
Other Exam information
All questions are multiple choice.
Students will sit two papers, each lasting 50β60 minutes.

How to Apply for 11 Plus (11+) Entry to Ashlawn School?
Applications to sit the entrance exam must be made on the school website over the summer before your child begins Year 6. You can register here.
You must also formally apply for a place at the school before midnight on the 31st of October (when your child is in Year 6) to be considered. You can find out more about applying for secondary schools in your local area here.
Is Ashlawn School part of a Consortium?
Ashlawn School is part of the West Midlands Grammar Schoolsβ partnership which is made up of the Grammar Schools in Birmingham, the Shropshire/Wolverhampton/Walsall Consortium and the Warwickshire Consortium.
Does Ashlawn School have a catchment area?
Ashlawn School does have a catchment area which is split into two. However, entry to the school is based on the scores achieved in the 11+ tests.
Eastern Priority Area: Rugby, Dunchurch, Cawston, Thurlaston, Leamington Hastings, Birdingbury, Grandborough, Wolfhamcote, Willoughby, Binley Woods, Brinklow, Brandon and Bretford, Ryton-on-Dunsmore, Bubbenhall, Wolston, Church Lawford, Long Lawford, Stretton-on Dunsmore, Princethorpe, Frankton, Marton, Bourton and Draycote, Churchover, Clifton-upon-Dunsmore, Combe Fields, Cosford, Easenhall, Harborough Magna, Kings Newnham, Little Lawford, Monks Kirby, Newton and Biggin, Pailton, Stretton-under-Fosse, Wibtoft, Willey, Withybrook.
Priority Circle: a circle with a radius of 10.004 miles from the Rugby Water Tower.
How Does Place Allocation Work?
Where qualifying applications exceed the number of places available, places will be allocated in the following order of priority:
Children in care or previously in care who achieve the qualifying score or above.
50% of places will be allocated to children living in the eastern area of Warwickshire using the following method of prioritisation:
a. Children living in the eastern area of Warwickshire who would be eligible for Pupil Premium who achieve the qualifying score or above.
b. Children living in the eastern area of Warwickshire who achieve the qualifying score or above.
The remaining 50% of available places will be allocated to children living in the priority circle (the centre of which is the Rugby Water Tower)::
a. Children who would be eligible for Pupil Premium, living in the priority circle, who achieve the qualifying score or above.
b. Children living in the priority circle, who achieve the qualifying score or above.
c. Children living in the priority circle who have been considered by the Committee of Reference and placed on the reserve list.
Other children who meet the qualifying standard for the school.
