You must also formally apply for a place at the school before midnight on the 31st of October (when your child is in Year 6) to be considered. You can find out more about applying for secondary schools in your local area here.
Is Calday Grange Grammar School part of a Consortium?
Calday Grange Grammar School is part of the Wirral Consortium with West Kirby Grammar School, Wirral Grammar School for Boys and Wirral Grammar School for Girls.
Does Calday Grange Grammar School have a catchment area?
Calday Grange Grammar School does have a catchment area, which is based on distance from the school. However, entry to the school is based firstly on the scores achieved in the 11+ tests.
How Does Place Allocation Work?
Where qualifying applications exceed the number of places available, places will be allocated in the following order of priority:
Looked After Children / Previously Looked After Children.
Children with a valid medical or social reason supported in writing by a doctor, social worker or appropriate professional person.
Up to 15 places for children on Free School Meals at the time of application who achieve the qualifying score in rank order of the shortest walking distance from the school.
Children who will have a sibling at the school at the time of admission. A sibling is defined as: a brother or sister by the same parents, a half brother or sister, a step-brother or sister, adopted child/children living in the same household.
By reference to geographical factors, preference will then be given to children with the shortest walking distance from the school as measured by the Local Authority computer mapping system.
