The pass mark for each year is decided after the tests have been marked.
The weightings are 50% for English and verbal reasoning, 25% for non-verbal reasoning and 25% for mathematics.
Other Exam information
All questions are multiple choice.
Students will sit two papers, each lasting 50β60 minutes.

How to Apply for 11 Plus (11+) Entry to King Edward VI School?
Applications to sit the entrance exam must be made on the school website over the summer before your child begins Year 6. You can register here.
You must also formally apply for a place at the school before midnight on the 31st of October (when your child is in Year 6) to be considered. You can find out more about applying for secondary schools in your local area here.
Is King Edward VI School part of a Consortium?
King Edward VI School is part of the West Midlands Grammar Schoolsβ partnership which is made up of the Grammar Schools in Birmingham, the Shropshire/Wolverhampton/Walsall Consortium and the Warwickshire Consortium.
Does King Edward VI School have a catchment area?
King Edward VI School does have a catchment area which is split into an βinnerβ and βouterβ priority circle, with the inner circle being prioritised. However, entry to the school is based on the scores achieved in the 11+ tests.
The circles are drawn from the Fountain in Rother Street, Stratford-upon-Avon. The inner priority circle is 13 miles and the outer priority circle is 16.885 miles to the county boundary south of Long Compton.
How Does Place Allocation Work?
Where qualifying applications exceed the number of places available, places will be allocated in the following order of priority:
Any looked-after or previously looked-after children who achieve the automatic qualifying score or above for the school for this particular year of entry, or who score up to 20 marks below the automatic qualifying score.
Children who live within either priority circle who attract the pupil premium via eligibility for Free School Meals who achieve either the automatic qualifying score or above for this school, for this particular year of entry, or who score up to 20 marks below the automatic qualifying score.
Up to 70 places will be allocated to children who live within the inner priority circle who achieve the automatic qualifying score or above for the school, for this particular year of entry.
Children who live within the outer priority circle (including those living in the inner priority circle) who achieve the automatic qualifying score or above for the school, for this particular year of entry.
Children living outside of the outer priority circle who achieve the automatic qualifying score or above for this school, for this particular year of entry.
Children who score below the automatic qualifying score, but above the required minimum academic standard for the waiting list for this school, for this particular year of entry.
