Students will sit two papers on two different dates, each lasting 45-50 minutes.

How to Apply for 11 Plus (11+) Entry to Plymouth High School for Girls?
Applications to sit the entrance exam must be made on the school website over the summer before your child begins Year 6. You can register here.
You must also formally apply for a place at the school before midnight on the 31st of October (when your child is in Year 6) to be considered. You can find out more about applying for secondary schools in your local area here.

Does Plymouth High School for Girls have a catchment area?
Plymouth High School for Girls does not have a catchment area, however in the case of a tie, the location and distance of the childβs house to the school will be used to make the final decision. However, entry to the school is based firstly on the scores achieved in the 11+ tests.
How Does Place Allocation Work?
Where qualifying applications exceed the number of places available, places will be allocated in the following order of priority:
Looked after children and all previously looked after children.
Children with exceptional medical or social need.
Children who qualify for the free school meals pupil premium or Ever 6 FSM/
Children with a sibling already attending this school at the time of admission.
Children whose parent/carer is a member of staff employed on a permanent contract at the school.
Other candidates by rank order of the highest score in the 11-plus examination.
