The pass mark for each year is decided after the tests have been marked.
The topics have the following weighting: 50% English and verbal reasoning; 25% maths and 25% non-verbal reasoning.
Other Exam information
All questions are multiple choice.
Students will sit two papers, each lasting 45 minutes.
One paper includes comprehension, technical English and verbal reasoning.
The other includes non-verbal reasoning, spatial reasoning and maths.

How to Apply for 11 Plus (11+) Entry to Aylesbury Grammar School?
Applications to sit the entrance exam must be made on the school website over the summer before your child begins Year 6. You can register here.
You must also formally apply for a place at the school before midnight on the 31st of October (when your child is in Year 6) to be considered. You can find out more about applying for secondary schools in your local area here.

How Does Place Allocation Work?
Where qualifying applications exceed the number of places available, places will be allocated in the following order of priority:
Boys in care or who have previously been in care.
Up to 6 places for boys who are looked after or previously looked after, living anywhere and are eligible for Pupil Premium.
Boys who are eligible for Pupil Premium.
Siblings of boys who will be on roll of Aylesbury Grammar School at the date of the applicant boy's entry to Year 7 in September.
Siblings of girls who will be on the roll of Aylesbury High School at the date of the applicant boy's entry to Year 7 in September.
Siblings of boys who have previously been on the roll of Aylesbury Grammar School.
Children of school staff.
Boys who have exceptional medical or social needs which can only be met at Aylesbury Grammar School.
Boys living in the catchment area of the school.
All other boys
