The non-verbal reasoning will be split into short sections, administered and timed individually.

• Finally, there will also be a writing exercise. 40 minutes will be allowed for the writing task, including 10 minutes planning time.

The Shipway Test (optional)

• The Folkestone School for Girls and the Harvey Boys Grammar School run ‘The Shepway Test’. 

• The Shepway Test “gives students a second chance” to pass the entrance tests. Students only have to achieve the required standard in either the Kent Test or the Shepway test in order to be deemed selective.

• The written test is marked by the school. The online test is marked by CEM. It consists of half an hour of creative writing and half an hour of other questions.

• The online test is a computer based test which assesses verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning and mathematics.
